Rest in peace John Barry (3 November 1933 – 30 January 2011).
John Barry won a Best Instrumental Theme Grammy for this theme from Midnight Cowboy (1969). My first introduction to this composition was when Faith No More did a cover on their album Angel Dust (1992). I loved that album in middle school (and truly still have love for it).
I have this soundtrack on wax and play it all the time. I love how side one starts with the Nilsson single "Everybody's Talking" and side two starts off with this main theme. This song is so sad.
