David Bowie-"Blackstar"(2015)
This track owns. It's like David Bowie made a similar krautrock inspired song off Kid A, but it pisses me off to say that because Bowie was playing Kraftwerk through the PA at his shows to warm up his audience while Thom Yorke was only ten years old.

Pictureplane-"Technomancer"(2015)
Pictureplane has been working on this album for years. I think it sounds great and is just what i'd expect from Travis- dance, trance, throwback techno etc. The last time i saw him at Palisades in Bushwick he slayed.

Here's the new unremarkable video from one of my favorite albums of this year.

DJ Koze-"XTC"(2013)
Another cut played at the Le Bain set by DJ Mike Simonetti. I'm going down memory lane tonight since I'm missing him at Bossa Nova. I'm not too worried, though, i know he'll be back there soon.
Thelma Houston-"I'm Here Again"(1977)
Another deep disco cut heard late into Simonetti's six hour set at Le Bain.
"I Got The Feeling"-Two Tons O' Fun(1981)
I heard my favorite DJ play this one a few weekends ago at Le Bain. He slayed with the deep classic cuts near the end of the night.

The Weeknd-"The Hills"(2015)
I think i read something like this song finds The Weeknd returning to form from his first mixtape, House of Balloons. (I was thinking the same thing). "The Hills" is the first single that he's come out with that sounds like The Weeknd that i first heard 4 years ago. I fucking love this track. Probably one of the best rap/trap songs to hit radio since....

Mike Simonetti-"Bossa Nova Civic Club Bootleg Song"(2015)
Named after his residency at Bossa Nova Civic Club, where he would test out his edits. (Although i guess i'm out of the loop because i've only heard of him DJing there like twice in the last year).
Kolsch-"Goldfisch"(2013)
An old work friend posted this track recently on social media. It's not as good as this track, but i like it.

My buddy, David, showed me this band from Detroit last night. I've heard about them for years and i really enjoy their "dance punk" sound.

The Cure-"Burn"(1994)
I was talking about this soundtrack the other day. I really can't remember with whom. Reminded me of the OST opener which happens to be one of my favorite bands of all time.

Gianco-"Old Night Flight"(1983)
Italo disco from '83. This is probably the 12,421th track Mike Simonetti's tipped me off to.

Duotronic Synterror-"LEBEN OHNE NERVEN"(1981)
Falvo showed me this German minimal synth act. It's fucking nuts. I love it.

The Replacements-"Bastards of Young"(1985)
More pub rock. The simplicity of this video slays and makes me just want to listen to records and chain smoke. From their first major label lp, Tim produced by Tommy Ramone.

The Horn-"Villager"(1996)
I recently discovered this track after listening to this BIS mix by the Drifter. This is the standout track imho.
HEALTH-"L.A. Looks"(2015)
I'm listening to the new Health album, Death Magic, right now. So far this is the nut-buster.
My Bloody Valentine-"When You Sleep"(1991)
I'm not big on 90s nostalgia rock, but this album is still so great. MBV played Dallas in 2009 but i regrettably missed it (because i was going to Europe the next day or some shit). In hindsight, i should've attended. All i heard about for months from every person that went was A. this was the loudest show ever/ comparable to a jet engine hitting your chest B. They sounded perfect.
Oh well, maybe i'll see them one day.

John Cale & Brian Eno-"Wrong Way Up"(1990)

Alan Braxe & Friends-"The Upper Cuts"(2005)
This whole album is great to throw on when you don't want to think about music or what you want to play next.

Yaz(oo)-"Only You"(1982)
Written by Vince Clark. Upstairs at Eric's is a flawless, timeless classic album in my humble opinion.
Grimes-"Realiti"(2015)
I was hyped to see some Jakarta, Indonesia and Singapore landmarks in this video. This song slays. I just can't stop listening to this track.

Blur-"Lonesome Street"(2015)
I tried getting tickets to the free Blur show this Friday at Music Hall of Williamsburg, but alas no dice. This new album sounds good upon first listen. I just read that Graham Coxon says this is his favorite Blur album of all time.
From the article:
The Britpop group recently returned for their first album in 12 years, with 'The Magic Whip' released this week (April 27). Expected to top the UK Albums Chart this weekend, it is also the first LP to feature Coxon throughout since 1999 (Coxon only featured on one track of 2003's 'Think Tank' after he left the band).
