Weyes Blood-"Do You Need My Love"(2016)

This new Weyes Blood lp, Front Row Seat To Earth, is going to be one of my favorite albums of 2016. It's different than most new music i listen to. It has a unique new sound while nodding to the past.  It reminds me of The Roches, The Carpenters, Donnie & Joe Emerson, Carol King, and/or possibly even a touch of Carly Simon, but it doesn't necessarily sound like a throwback record. It's a powerful and emotional record. Subtle in ways and complex in others.

Kedr Livanskiy-"Otvechai Za Slova (Keep Your Word)"(2016)

This video's been out for a month but for some dumb reason i just finally watched it today. Kedr is definitely my most favorite "new" artist as of late. She was so great to see live (both times, but especially in that church in Greenpoint).

DJG-"Halloween Horror Mix"(2016)

Solomun-BBC Radio 1's Essential [live] Mix (7/30/16)

I posted this because about 9 minutes into this live mix you can hear the acid house version of "Distance to the Waves" by Pale Blue. I like thinking of people in an Ibiza dance club going crazy to this particular track.

Spooky Black-"Pull"(2014)

Straight out of St. Paul, Minnesota. This dude is like the new version of Rick Astley.

Peaking Lights-"LO HI"(2012)

This psych-pop-dub jammer from 2012 still slays. Put out on Mexican Summer.

Rozalla-"Everybody's Free [mambo mix]"(1992)

Strike-"U Sure Do"(1995)

Snap!-"Rhythm is a Dancer"(1992)

I'm going to post some fire tracks from a 3 disc mix CD I've been listening to in a van the last week w/ Future Punx.

Oneohtrix Point Never-"Nobody Here"(2009)

The Stroke Band-"Rat Race"(1978)

Reissued on Anthology a couple years ago. Something about this reminds me of the Urinals meets Talking Heads/Roxy Music.

Weyes Blood-"Do You Need My Love"(2016)

From her forthcoming album on Mexican Summer.

Lil Yachty-"1 Night"(2016)

This video and track are next level. Please scope the hook, production, and Lil Yachty's style. Maybe he's another 2 hit wonder or whatever, but maybe he'll end up being the next 'Ye (i know, i know-not fucking likely).
