"The Burning" (1981)

A few points:

Original music by Rick Wakeman.

This is the film that launched the careers of acclaimed producers Harvey Weinstein and Bob Weinstein.(IMDB)

Harvey Weinstein actually wrote this film before the release of Friday the 13th (1980/I), the film that most critics call The Burning an imitator of. (IMDB)

Tom Savini (renowned special effects artist and 'Sex Machine' in From Dusk 'til Dawn [1996]) turned down "Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981)" to work on this. (IMDB)

Jason Alexander's debut in a feature film (also an early performance by this guy from "Short Circuit" and a young Mark Ratner from "Fast Times at Ridgemont High")

This director, Tony Maylam, made the futuristic sci-if horror film Split Second (1992) starring Rutger Hauer.
