Pictureplane - "Gothstar" (2009)

This post is a few weeks old but here it is: So my head felt like it was being blown off when the door girl at Hailey's told us the cover was $30 each for admission to see Pictureplane, Nite Jewel, and Gayngs on Sunday night[3/13/11/] (sorry, we missed locals Peopleodian). Thank goodness Pictureplane (who had missed his original flight) was able to perform, helping to make the show worth my hard earned scrilla'.

My first introduction to Pictureplane was in person at his warehouse/DIY space/cool venue Rhinoceropolis in Denver, CO while i was on tour with my friend, Dan. He was wearing the skinniest of the skinny black jeans i ever seent and a sick black XL Nirvana happy face t-shirt with the sleeves cut off. (The bathroom up in that place is one for the books). He was unapologetically listening to 90s-sounding dance music and putting up plastic silver "party" adornments on the decrepit walls. The room soon filled up with college kids, burners, boozers-the kind of people with which i generally get along. Needless to say it was one of the most fun shows on this trip that took me all the way to the Pacific Northwest.

Here's the original Fleetwood Mac song sampled throughout the above track (thanks JG):
