Rick Ross ft. Wiz Khalifa & Currency-"Super High remix" (2010)

I heard a burned Wiz Khalifa compact disc on the way to SXSW that my homeboy left in my ride(possibly along with his keys). We had too much fun seeing Joan of Arc, Nite Jewel, J Mascis, the end of a song by Dum Dum Girls, Fergus & Geronimo, Big Boi, !!!, The Dead Milkmen, K-Fal and Katie DJing, rolling in the topper, hanging in a judge's domicile, AND chilling with another bro!

This other major Wiz single i may post later.

KRS-One-"My Philosophy"(1988)

Let's re-direct into some positive hip-hop after all that gangsta rap, G-Funk and beefin' in the streets. (After these 2 test grades i received tonight in my government class, i need all the positivity i can get).

KRS-One stands for Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everything. I wonder what it doesn't reign supreme over? It was a tough call as to which KRS (or Boogie Down Productions)video to post, but ultimately i decided on "My Philosophy" instead of "Stop the Violence" (1984). It's interesting how in 1992 (after receiving criticism for being too preachy) the usually conscious minded BDP released an album titled Sex & Violence. Who does he think he is- The Exploited?

It is too sick that he alludes to the NWA song "Gangsta Gangsta" (1988) when he drops "It's not about a salary, it's all about reality". Yuh.

Dr. Dre-"Let Me Ride" (1993)

This was the third single released by Dr. Dre off his 1993 album The Chronic after "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang" and the previously posted "Fuck with Dre Day".

Ice Cube shows up a in a cameo (at 'lil over 5 minutes) in this Dr. Dre directed video to say "Damn right it was a good day", this indicated that the beef between Dr. Dre and Ice Cube was over. Yuh!

NWA-"Express Yourself" (1988)

I'm trying to rap up these NWA related "beef" posts. Let's bring it back to one of the most innovative and original rap groups from which all the later internal contention between this group's members began. (pun intended)

"Unlike most songs on the album and by N.W.A, the song is almost devoid of profanity and violent content. "Express Yourself" was released in 1989 as the album's last single." (wikipedia.org)

Ice Cube-"No Vaseline" (1991)

Ice Cube goes the hardest while ruthlessly doggin' out his old homeboys from NWA- Dr. Dre., Eazy-E and even MC "motherfuckin" Ren. He dogggggggs everybody! He references (and the fan made video depicts an image of) Benedict Arnold n shit....lol

(Also drops "Willie D told me to let a ho' be a ho, so....")

This comment from YouTube says it all:

@jacobalba89 Also he wrote all the Friday Films, starring in Boyz in the Hood, in both Barbershops, I see Ice Cube as a unappreciated Rap Legend, he had a legacy before Jay Z,Eminem, even Nas came onto the scene.

People don't rate Ice Cube now, cause he done a couple of kids movies, knowing his whole legacy I couldn't give a shit, if he's a sellout for that then your not a real ice cube fan neither is anyone else. Fed up with people saying he didn't keep it real.

Is there an MC Ren track where he disses Ice Cube, Dr. Dre. or Eazy-E that I don't know about?

Personal side note...My older brother and I did own the cassette tape Straight Outta Compton by NWA when i was elementary school (he was in middle school).
